“Mirage: Arcane Warfare” closed beta launched this Monday, and developer Tanner Banner Studios announced the event through a Beta Launch trailer uploaded on YouTube. In order for interested fans to join the event, they need to preorder the game from Steam. Many other details about the first-person multiplayer have been revealed as well.

“Mirage: Arcane Warfare” will not officially launch until May 24, but players can get early access to the game when they preorder it from Steam. Closed beta testing is said to include six classes of characters as well as two tiers of swappable abilities. It also features 11 maps and five different modes. “Mirage is at a crucial state of development, so we’re really looking forward to sharing what we have been so proud to work on in the closed beta,” President Steve Piggott said.

As part of the launch of the closed beta, players will be granted extra beta access so they could bring their friend along in “Mirage’s” world of powerful magic and melee combat. For owners of “Chivalry: Medieval Warfare,” Torn Banner Studios is offering them a 10 percent discount when they preorder the upcoming game. Beta will remain open until the game’s release date. Both the Standard and Special Edition of the game grant players with beta access.

Aside from launching the closed Beta, Torn Banner Studios also released its Beta Walkthrough on YouTube to give players a clear idea on the action-packed game that they are about to enter. In the video, Torn Banner says players will experience intense sword fights and magic carnage in a vast fantasy world when they play the game. “Mirage” is said to be centered on a combat system that involves an improved version of swordplay from “Chivalry” as well as a huge range of magic spells. The magic in the vast arena of “Mirage” is designed to be an extension of melee combat, so players would feel that casting spells are like sword fights from a distance.

Torn Banner also warns players that every attack they make in the game should be carefully planned. Positioning, footwork and timing are quite crucial when attacking enemies and dodging strikes made by opponents. Players can also make combinations of attacks to ensure victory when in a melee combat.

In the story side of things, Torn Banner says “Mirage: Arcane Warfare” depicts a civil war between two factions who are both hungry for power. Players have six classes of characters to choose from, and there’s a unique story that unfolds based on the actions players make. Part of this story is the modes and maps that create unique combat scenarios with objectives to realize.

Lastly, the walkthrough presents the different customizations players can make to their characters. There are user-controlled voice commands players can use during combats, and these range from badass statements to hilarious remarks. The appearance and combat weapons have several customization options as well, giving players the chance to make their ultimate warriors.
