Columbus, Ohio, homicide detectives Friday investigated the death of a man who had been missing for more than a week after he was found in his car with bullet wounds.

The body of Ricardo Daniel Vallejo-Truss, 39, was found Thursday morning on the east side of the city. Police said they had received calls about a car that had been parked on East Moreland Drive and hadn’t moved for “some time.” Vallejo-Truss was identified and pronounced dead at the scene around 10 a.m. from a gunshot wound. Police did not disclose where he was shot.

A missing person's report for Vallejo-Truss was filed on Dec. 11. He reportedly had been missing since Dec. 5 when he was last seen driving a silver Lexus 350 sedan on Columbus’ east side. It was unclear where Vallejo-Truss was heading to at the time of his disappearance.

He was described as a 5-foot-10 black male with black hair and brown eyes and weighing 210 pounds.

Police asked anyone with information about Vallejo-Truss’ whereabouts since Dec. 5 or his death to come forward.
