On Dec. 12, Heidi Broussard and her newborn daughter, Margot Carey, disappeared. After dropping her young son off at school, police began looking into the whereabouts of the Austin mom. Following the investigation, Broussard's body was recovered inside the trunk of a car parked outside a residence on Dec. 19. Margot was also found unharmed inside the home, which was located near Houston.

Subsequently, Magen Fieramusca, a longtime friend of Broussard, was arrested in connection with her murder. Originally, she was supposed to appear in court on Thursday morning. However, her hearing has now been postponed.

According to KVUE, her appearance was pushed back to Feb. 3 at 9:00 a.m. at the request of her attorneys. At this time, the Travis County District Attorney's Office has not elaborated on why the date was moved. The suspect does not have to appear at the new February date.

Previously, Criminal Defense Attorney Bob Bianchi spoke about the sentence he believes Fieramusca could eventually receive. Due to the fact that she took advantage of her long friendship with Broussard, he stated that the "aggravating factors" could all lead her to receiving a harsh punishment.

At this time, Fieramusca remains in custody at the Travis County Jail and has been charged with two counts of kidnapping and one charge of tampering with a corpse.
