An Illinois woman accused of killing her 5-month-old daughter allegedly searched the web for "ways to get rid of your child," said prosecutors.

Canton police arrested Joslynn Graham, 23, on first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of her 5-month-old daughter Emery Lyons. During Graham’s bond hearing on Tuesday, a prosecutor told the Fulton County Court that the accused repeatedly searched for ways to kill the child on the internet in the weeks leading up to the infant’s murder.

Officers were called to Graham’s home on Oct. 7 after one of the parents called 911. After arriving at the house, the first responder found the baby unresponsive. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Baby Lyons died from blunt force trauma to the head, said police.

Investigators allegedly found multiple searches on "how to get rid of a child" on Graham’s phone, the New York Post reported. A witness told investigators that Graham "expressed frustration with the child."

Graham told investigators that she had been with her daughter most of the day of the incident.

The autopsy report found that the girl had multiple contusions on her head and face, the WEEK reported.

On Tuesday, Graham was appointed a public defender who said they have "every intention of entering a plea of not guilty."

Police are still investigating the incident and have not released any further information.

Graham has been booked into the Fulton County Jail. A judge set her bond at $1 million. If convicted, Graham faces 20 to 60 years in prison. She is due in court next Thursday.

Earlier this week, a North Carolina woman was arrested for stabbing her 1-year-old infant in front of an officer. The woman was allegedly arguing with a family member about the custody of her child. Shortly after officers arrived, the woman took the child to the kitchen and stabbed her in the back. She dropped the knife when police intervened. The toddler is expected to survive.

In another similar incident, a teen father from Texas was arrested for allegedly killing his 3-weeks-old baby by squeezing him and tossing him toward the ceiling fan. The accused was allegedly angry at his ex-girlfriend for not aborting the baby.
