  • "Monster Hunter Rise" will release on Steam in January 2022
  • A playable demo of the game is expected to go live on Oct. 13
  • The game will feature enhanced graphics and better keyboard support

The PC version for “Monster Hunter Rise” has been officially revealed on Steam, giving players the option to pre-purchase the game ahead of its actual release next year.

“Monster Hunter Rise” was originally released for the Nintendo Switch as a timed exclusive back in March. A PC port of the game was previously teased, but details regarding this version of the game were sparse up until recently. Capcom released a trailer for the upcoming Steam version, which featured a quick look at what players can expect from the game.

The PC port of “Monster Hunter Rise” will feature enhanced graphics and performance to take advantage of the more powerful systems found in modern computers. Video resolution will be upscaled to 4K with ultra-wide monitor support and high-resolution textures for every object in the game. The maximum FPS supported by the game will be increased, but it’s new cap was not specified.

Capcom will be adding optimized mouse and keyboard support for the Steam version, similar to how “Monster Hunter World’s” controls were designed to be as fluid and useful for players without having them resort to using external controllers. Voice chat is also going to be implemented on the PC release for the players’ convenience.

“Monster Hunter Rise” for PC will release on Jan. 12, 2022, but players will get to try out the game with a playable demo that’s scheduled to go live on Oct. 13. Capcom did not specify the coverage of the demo, but it’s assumed that it will more or less be the same one that was made available for Nintendo Switch users earlier this year.

The original release of “Monster Hunter Rise” was met with very positive reviews from gamers around the world despite lacking a “proper” end-game found in earlier “Monster Hunter” titles. A number of new monsters, including Elder Dragons, were later added to the game, as well as a new ending that capped off the story in a more fitting manner.

Capcom recently revealed “MH Rise’s” first expansion called “Sunbreak,” which will feature a brand-new Elder Dragon and what appears to be a new area set in the ruins of an ancient civilization. “Sunbreak” is due to release in Summer 2022.
