NetherRealm Studios released a new “Mortal Kombat 11” patch that makes the grinding experience easier when hunting for cosmetics. AI difficulty adjustments, Koin gain boosts and other quality of life updates have been added, along with a large pack of loot. Here’s what we know about the new “Mortal Kombat 11” patch.

The official patch notes posted on the “Mortal Kombat 11” Reddit, lists all the changes. Crash fixes, increased rewards and tweaks were made to further improve the general gameplay and Towers of Time mode for all players.

Players will now face AI opponents more in tune to their difficulty and receive more rewards after finishing them off.

Before the patch, clearing the Towers of Time had been difficult and annoying at times due to the imbalanced nature of the gimmicks they present. Depending on the tower, the challenge presented to players would be stage gimmicks that are difficult or have no direct counter while they try to fight the enemy.

Most of the time, these gimmicks would interrupt the player, which makes the fights frustrating, if not extremely difficult to clear. The new updates now allow players to use specific moves, such as stances that deflect incoming projectiles, to effectively counter it.

Meanwhile, Tag Assist modifiers come in too often from enemy AI, which sometimes removes any chance to fight back as the enemy floods you with attacks with barely any openings to hit them.

Some Konsumables also cancel out some stage gimmicks more reliably and allow players to fight as if it’s a regular match. Overall, Towers of Time required players to play through an immensely broken version of "Mortal Kombat 11" to get cosmetics.

Lastly, some daily towers have had their modifiers removed, which make them easier to clear. In addition to the fixes, NetherRealm Studios are also giving out free 500,000 Koins, 1,000 Souls, 1,000 Time Crystals and 500 Hearts as a thank you community gift to its players. However, this community gift bundle will only be available to players up until May 6 at 8 a.m. CST/6 a.m. EST.
