Most Americans believe that President Trump and his family have profited inappropriately from cryptocurrency.

Most Americans believe that President Trump and his family have profited inappropriately from cryptocurrency, a recent survey found.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll that asked about the Trump family's cryptocurrency efforts found that 63% of respondents said it was inappropriate for Trump and his family to have profited from such ventures. Thirty-two percent said it was appropriate and, while the rest refused to answer the question.
The Trump family's crypto efforts generated more than $1.4 billion for Trump last year. The outlet noted that the President had used the office to draw attention to various meme coins. For example, Reuters reported that in March 2025 he described a coin as the "Greatest of them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The White House pushed back on any suggestion of conflicts of interest.
"There are no conflicts of interest," White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement to Reuters. "The President only acts in the best interests of the American public."
The poll was conducted online and surveyed 1,166 U.S. adults nationwide between August 14 and August 17. The results had a margin of error of 3 percentage points for all Americans and 5 points for Democrats, Republicans and independents.
Overall, President Trump's poll numbers appear to be trending down. The Silver Bulletin, a website that analyzes numerous polls and creates an aggregate score, has Trump's approval rating effectively at its low point.

Since the end of July, the website has had Trump's disapproval number at above 58 percent and his disapproval around 38 percent. The numbers have moved little in the last few weeks.
The site also has Trump underwater on several key issues, including immigration (-11 percent), trade (-26 percent), the economy (-28 percent), and inflation (-42 percent).
The Iran war is also not helping Trump. Only about 36.8 percent of the public support the war, while 57 percent oppose it. According to the site, the war has never been popular, with more people opposing the military action than supporting it since it began on February 28.
