A new museum is being made in Stockholm in honor of Avicii’s legacy. The museum will be dedicated to the life and achievements of the DJ and will open for the public in 2021.

In a press release obtained by the Rolling Stone, the museum organizers revealed that the objective behind “Avicii Experience” is to bring fans “closer” to the artist, whose real name was Tim Bergling. The organizers further explained that fans would get to know about Bergling’s inspiring journey from being a “music nerd” to becoming a world-renowned DJ.

Visitors will also be able to hear some of Avicii’s unreleased music and see the “creative process” that went into his creations.

They also confirmed that all the money that will be generated through the Avicii Experience will go to the Tim Bergling foundation.

Meanwhile, one of Avicii’s frequent collaborators, Nile Rodgers, revealed that the “Wake Me Up” hitmaker was one of the “finest” songwriters that he has ever worked with. Rodgers added that Avicii was a “melodic beast” and made many successful records.

“Avicii has quite rightly been celebrated as one of the greatest DJs of all time and as an important artist who made massively successful records but what I will remember the most is that Tim was one of the finest songwriters I ever worked with. He was a melodic beast who has not as yet had the recognition he deserves for his extraordinary talent. Tim, I love and miss you, my friend! ” Rodgers said.

Born in 1989, the Swedish DJ started his musical journey in 2009. He released a number of remixes such as “Sound of Now”, “Muja”, “Ryu” and “Even” between 2009 and 2010 that took his popularity to a whole new level. However, his moment of glory came in 2011 when he came out with the song “Levels.”

The song became a huge hit and topped many charts. In 2012, his collaboration track " Sunshine" with David Guetta was nominated for a Grammy under the category of Best Dance Recording.

In 2013, he released his first studio album named “True.” The album turned out to be a success for the DJ and he came out with one more album in 2015 that was called “Stories.”

In March 2016, Avicii announced his retirement from touring, although he said that he will continue to create music.

However, in April 2018, Avicii was found dead in Oman’s capital city, Muscat. The 28-year-old took his own life by cutting himself with a broken wine bottle.
