At the Mobile World Congress 2022 event in Barcelona, ZTE Corporation will unveil the “AX11000 Wi-Fi 6E 10-Gigabit-capable Symmetric Passive Optical Network (XGS-PON) Optical Network Terminal (ONT),” called XGS-PON ONT.

XGS-PON ONT offers “10 Gbps wired and 10 Gbps Wi-Fi access rates” and also “supports EasyMesh standard” which allows many devices to quickly and stably network. Regardless of where users are in their homes, ZTE claims they will not experience a reduction in video speed or video-play stalling.

The ONT can also handle 4K/8K and Virtual Reality (VR) video, which requires “high bandwidth, low latency, and high stability.” It also has smart mesh networking. The technology “enables 10 Gbps speed both in the upstream and downstream.”

The product includes a 10 GE network port and allows for “tri-band concurrency” and “Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO),” which helps to achieve “maximum physical rates of 11 Gbps.” Users can also upgrade the bandwidth easily.

With “Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN),” and more technologies used by ONT allow the port to deliver rates in excess of 1 Gbps. Wi-Fi 6E, a part of the smart mesh networking of the port, supports three bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz.

The Wi-Fi 6E supported bands also work with “Access Points (APs) to conduct mesh backhaul” and two of the bands boost Wi-Fi signal coverage and network performance for home use. ZTE also highlights that the appearance and design, including “black casing and double-sided cooling holes,” allow for a compact design of the ONT.

ZTE has lauded the ONT as a product that can “provide ultimate experiences for gigabit broadband applications like gaming, live-streaming, and e-learning.”

ZTE is partially owned by the Chinese government and is a technology company that specializes in telecommunication headquartered in Shenzhen, China. The company describes itself as a leader in the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) industry.
