Deku is still feeling guilty and fears Shigaraki and his League of Villains will attack U.A. and kill his friends and civilians.

In "My Hero Academia" Chapter 322, Deku was tired of fighting and running away from Class A’s students. The opening of this chapter showed Deku giving up the fight as his friends held him.

However, he repeatedly said he was scared for the people at U.A. and didn’t want to be unnecessary trouble for anyone. He struggled but stated he didn’t want to go back to U.A.

At this time, Bakuguo asked him if he remembered what he said when Shigaraki almost killed him. Deku was clueless, Bakugou reminded him that he needed to stop trying to win this alone.

Bakugou continued that he needed to say more but was stabbed. He told Deku he always looked down on him because he was Quirkless. He felt Deku was beneath him, but he knew Deku was special.

Bakugou confessed he couldn’t accept Deku as he continued to bully him. He added he tried to act superior but he was losing the fight. Deku was shocked to see Bakugou opening his heart out.

Later, Bakugou apologized for everything. Toward the end, Deku and his friends were at U.A.’s gates and faced strong protest from civilians who were refugees.

The digital version of "My Hero Academia" manga chapters is available on Viz and Manga Plus.
