Naomi Watts discussed her upcoming movie “The Book of Henry” during Focus Features’ CinemaCon presentation recently.

In between discussing the drama film’s plot and unveiling the trailer alongside director Colin Trevorrow at the Las Vegas event on March 29, the veteran actress briefly complimented her youngest co-stars Jaeden Lieberher and Jacob Tremblay when discussing the “fantastic young actors around these days.”

“We got really lucky,” Watts told the crowd at Caesars Palace. “These boys are wildly talented. We had a fantastic experience.”

Before exiting the stage for the trailer debut, Watts quickly complimented her other young co-star, Maddie Ziegler. “Maddie as well,” she added.

According to Watts, “The Book of Henry,” which follows a single mother and her two sons as they try to save their distressed neighbor, is a family story at heart, calling it “fantastically human.”

Backstage at CinemaCon’s Big Screen Achievement Awards on March 30, Watts revealed why she signed onto the film. “I really just related to the story of this woman trying to do the best she could and also there’s a lot of twists and turns in this movie. It does step foot in many different worlds,” she explained.

“It’s a family story but there’s also some gear changes that ramps it up into some physiological thriller type areas. She has a big sort of epiphany throughout the film. She grows up and learns how to be a better mother, because she’s really not doing her absolute best at the beginning point of the film, so it’s a good story to tell.”

“The Book of Henry” also stars Sarah Silverman, Lee Pace and Dean Morris. The movie debuts in theaters on June 16.
