A UFO expert claimed to have spotted a U-shaped alien vessel flying over the Moon in a photo taken by NASA. Based on the photo, the alleged UFO looked like it was preparing to land.

The strange object was spotted by Scott Waring of ET Data Base. According to Waring, he came across the object in one of the photos featured in NASA’s online gallery.

As indicated in the photo’s caption, it was captured during the Apollo 12 mission, which was the sixth human expedition in the spaceflight program. It served as the second Apollo mission to land on the Moon, which took place in 1969.

The photo was taken from inside the Apollo 12 module, which was hovering above the lunar surface. It was most likely taken by command module pilot Richard F. Gordon, who was left inside the orbiting spacecraft after astronauts Alan L. Bean and Charles Conrad Jr. descended to the surface using the lunar module.

In the image, a bright yellowish object can be spotted above the ground. According to Waring, the object captured in the photo was an actual alien vessel.

The UFO expert noted that the mysterious object had a U-shaped body and left a bluish trail behind. For Waring, the appearance of the trail suggested that the object had its own propulsion system. Also, based on the orientation of the object, the UFO expert assumed that it was preparing to approach the surface of the Moon.

“I found this UFO in an Apollo 12 index and it shows a U-shaped UFO with a blue trail behind it,” Waring wrote on a blog post. “I added a bit of contrast to the photo to make its detail sharper.”

“The object is huge and from the angle of the blue trail, the UFO must have come down at a 45-degree angle to the surface of the Moon,” he continued.

Despite being clearly visible in the photo, NASA did not provide a statement explaining the nature of the strange object. It is possible that it was caused by a simple lighting problem when the photo was taken or it was produced by a natural cosmic occurrence in space.

The distinct crater in the mare at right center is Milichius A. The center of the terrain pictured is located at 11 degrees north latitude and 32.5 degrees west longitude. While astronauts Charles Conrad Jr., commander, and Alan L. Bean, lunar module pilot, descended in the Lunar Module (LM) "Intrepid" to explore the Ocean of Storms region of the moon, astronaut Richard F. Gordon Jr., command module pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules (CSM) "Yankee Clipper" in lunar orbit. NASA
