  • The search for Naya Rivera continues after she went missing July 8 during a trip to Lake Piru
  • Her ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, and family members were spotted at the reservoir over the weekend
  • Naya's father, George, got into the water fully-clothed as officials continued the search for the missing actress

Naya Rivera's family, including her ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, joined the search for the missing actress over the weekend at Lake Piru, where she is believed to have drowned.

On Sunday, Rivera's dad, George Rivera, was spotted swimming in the reservoir fully-clothed five days into the search for the "Glee" actress, who went missing on Wednesday evening. Several of Rivera's family members, including mother, Yolanda, and brother, Mychal, were also seen hugging each other on the banks of the lake in Ventura County, California, Daily Mail reported.

In photos obtained by the outlet, Dorsey, with whom Rivera shares 4-year-old son Josey Hollis Dorsey, looked somber as he joined his former father-in-law lakeside at one point over the weekend.

Rivera and Dorsey got married in 2014 and welcomed their son a year later. Although their marriage survived a divorce filing from Rivera in 2016, their relationship went south when the actress was arrested on a domestic battery charge during the Thanksgiving weekend in 2017 for allegedly hitting Dorsey in the head. The charges against her were later dropped.

The couple finalized their divorce a year later and split custody of their son, Josey.

The search for Rivera's body will resume Monday morning, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said in a tweet.

Police have warned fans against joining in the search, saying the officials involved in the search were “well equipped and highly trained.”

“We don't want to have to rescue you,” the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office stated on its Twitter account.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office was assisted by members of the Tulare and San Luis Obispo sheriff's agencies as well as a private contractor, Sgt. Marta Bugarin, a public information officer with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office told the media.

On Thursday, during a news conference, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Kevin Donoghue said that Rivera’s body may never be found if it is entangled in something underneath the water.

The conditions of Lake Piru have further "complicated" the search and rescue efforts for Rivera, Donoghue said at the time.

The 33-year-old was reported missing on July 8 after a mother-son boating trip to Lake Piru. Rivera had rented a pontoon boat for an outing with her son, and they went swimming in the reservoir. However, a few hours later, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department received a report of the 4-year-old being found alone floating on the boat.

Sources said that Josey told investigators that his mother never made it out of the water after she went swimming, TMZ reported.

Police said they do not believe the actress killed herself after listening to what her son said about her disappearance.
