The Netflix film “Red Notice” is shuffling around its production after its proposed plan to film in Italy has been thwarted by the looming threat of coronavirus. The film’s star, Dwayne “‘The Rock” Johnson, is also a producer of the Netflix original.

While most of the “Red Notice” production took place in Atlanta, there is an Italian segment of shooting that Netflix is currently trying to work around, Deadline reports.

The action-heist movie is the writing-directing project of Rawson Marshall Thurber, whose previous works include previous Dwayne Johnson works like “Central Intelligence” and “Skyscraper.” Netflix took over the project last year from Universal.

As of right now, “Black Adam” lead Johnson will star alongside fellow superhero actors Gal Gadot (“Wonder Woman”) and Ryan Reynolds (“Deadpool”).

According to Johnson’s Instagram, he will play an INTERPOL agent who is tasked with finding globe-trotting criminals after a “Red Notice,” a worldwide “global alert,” is sent out. This pins “the world’s greatest tracker” against “the world’s greatest art thief” and “the world’s greatest conman.”

“Red Notice” isn’t the only film the coronavirus has touched. “Mission Impossible 7” had to halt a three-week-long shoot that was supposed to take place in Venice, Italy.

It is unknown what other effects the coronavirus will have on the global film market, or when the outbreak will be contained. Last week, a World Health Organization official, via USA Today, said that they are on the “highest level of alert or highest level of risk assessment in terms of spread and in terms of impact.”
