Lions Gate Entertainment has released a new poster for the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games -- and Jennifer Lawrence's character, Katniss Everdeen, is looking just as fierce as we imagined.

The poster comes a little more than two months before the movie's release date, March 23.

Whether the film adaptation will live up to the first book of author Suzanne Collins' trilogy remains to be seen, but it seems to have all the right ingredients.

Top-notch casting is just one reason the film looks like quite the thriller.

Lawrence, who received a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role in Winter's Bone, is joined by fellow rising stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the roles of Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne, respectively.

Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Lenny Kravitz also round out the movie's primary cast.

Actress Amandla Stenberg, who plays Rue, Katniss' ally during the Games, revealed her audition secrets in an interview with Publishers Weekly.

I wore khakis and a T-shirt, and my mom had rolled around my clothes in the dirt before, said the 13-year-old. And we put twigs in my hair and leaves all over me, and stains were all over my clothes. And I had a little wreath of flowers in my pocket that I thought Rue might have. That was in my pocket as good luck, and also a special rock.

She admitted she was nervous about meeting Lawrence.

But then I became so relaxed when I got to know her, she told PW.
