With principal photography now complete on Daniel Craig’s newest and final Bond film, fans are waiting to see just what disastrous threat the British spy will stave off this time in “No Time To Die.” Showcased on the official 007 franchise Instagram account over the weekend, Craig and director Cary Fukunaga posed with a clapboard from the film alongside the caption, “That’s a wrap on #NoTimeToDie. Released in 2006, “Casino Royale,” the 21st entry in the Bond series, invited a modern and far grittier interpretation of 007. Upon its upcoming release, following 14 years of the rebooted franchise, “No Time To Die” will portray a Bond free from active duty living peacefully in Jamaica. It’s not all beaches and sunshine, though, as 007 will be tasked with a perilous new mission, one that sees him aiding CIA counterpart and friend, Felix Leiter. IMDb's official synopsis says it best:

“His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

Returning cast members include Léa Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann (who first appeared as a psychologist in 2015’s “Spectre”), Naomi Harris as Moneypenny, Jeffrey Wright as CIA operative Felix Leiter, Ben Whipsaw as weapon specialist Q, and Ralph Fiennes as M.

Christoph Waltz will also be rejoining the cast as notorious Bond archenemy Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the seventh on-screen portrayal of the character. This time, however, Waltz won’t be the main villain of “No Time To Die,” as newcomer and Oscar-winner Rami Malek will be portraying Safin, a dangerous evildoer, as displayed in the title reveal trailer.

Given the fact this is Craig's final outing as the titular Bond character, it only makes sense that this would be the franchise's most explosive and heartwarming portrayal of the character yet. This is especially true with the return of Waltz' Blofeld, who turned out to be Bond's foster brother in "Spectre," in addition to Seydoux, who will be appearing in an upcoming video game called "Death Stranding." It's unclear how they will factor into the overall plot of the movie just yet, though fans can expect a tangled and disastrous mystery only Bond himself will be capable of thwarting.

The 25th Bond film releases April 8, 2020.
