Lauren Conrad is loving and enjoying her downtime with her son.

It has been six weeks since Conrad gave birth to her son, Liam Tell. According to an insider, the “Laguna Beach” alum is embracing her new role as a mom with open arms.

“Lauren is doing great,” the insider told E! News. “She’s still getting acclimated to life with a newborn but is really enjoying the quiet time at home with her little guy... Liam’s not awake for very long so Lauren is spending most of her time at home getting to know him and what he likes. It’s all trial and error.”

The insider added that Lauren loves to walk her baby and her dogs in the neighborhood. The family lives right by the beach so the when they go out they get to enjoy some fresh air.

Although Lauren is spending more time with her family following the arrival of her son, she has never slowed down when it comes to her business. “Lauren hasn’t slowed down with work at all and continues to be a working mom,” the insider added. However, she’s not in a rush to shed the extra weight she gained during her pregnancy and is taking her time when it comes to integrating her diet and fitness back into her routine.

Lauren and Tell welcomed their first child together in July. “We are thrilled to share that we welcomed our son Liam James Tell into our family,” the couple told People. “Mom, Dad and baby are doing well. We’re already in love!”

Lauren also announced baby Liam’s arrival on Instagram by sharing a photo of a cross-stitch embroidery that she has been working on. It is a picture of a happy family with two dogs, where the mom carries a little baby. “He’s here! We’re so excited to welcome Liam James Tell into the world!” she wrote in the caption.

As for raising their baby, Conrad revealed that her baby is the first grandchild on both sides, so they can expect a lot of help. “William and I are so fortunate that we’re having the first grandchild on both sides. Both of our families live about 20 minutes from us so I think we’ll have a lot of help, which is really great,” she said.
