Another Friday means another round of new original content from the big streaming platforms. This week, Netflix and Amazon Prime are debuting new comedies and a fresh season of an original. Here’s a rundown of what’s to help you schedule this week’s movie night or binge-session.

Netflix

"Murder Mystery":

The latest original film from Netflix is the newest offering from their long-term production deal, the aptly-titled “Murder Mystery.” Hailing from director Kyle Newacheck – who helmed another Netflix film, “Game Over, Man!” – Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston star as a New York couple who become embroiled in, well, a murder mystery. Attending a small gathering on the boat of an aged billionaire, the couple becomes major suspects when the billionaire is murdered. Watch the trailer above.

Joining Sandler and Aniston are Luke Evans, Gemma Arterton, and John Kani (“Black Panther”).

"Jo Koy: Comin’ In Hot":

“Comin’ In Hot” is the second stand-up special from Filipino-American comedian, Jo Koy. Filmed at the Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, Koy’s latest special features candid and self-deprecating material about being a father in the modern age, Filipino culture, and more. (This special technically premiered on Wednesday.)

Amazon

"Absentia" Season 2:

Stana Katic ("Castle") returns as Emily Byrne in another season of the macabre Canadian crime thriller, “Absentia.” Season 1 – currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video – followed Byrne, an FBI agent who resurfaces after being declared dead in absentia for years and must piece together her life and prove herself innocent of a series of murders. Season 2 finds her still on the hunt for answers.
