A new patch was released for “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain,” and it eliminates the save-destroying bug that previously plagued gamers. This bug occurred when players would have Quiet be the buddy character for missions 29 and 42, resulting in the save getting destroyed and fans having to start from the very beginning.

Thankfully, the bug seems to have been erased completely with the release of the patch, so fans who haven’t reached these missions should be fine. Unfortunately, it seems like those who lost their saved game to the bug will not be able to get them back, Destructoid reported.

Quiet was a character who was revealed quite early during the hype for “Metal Gear Solid V,” so it’s easy to see why fans opted to choose her as a companion for Big Boss during missions. It’s a shame that the bug occurred and deleted many saved games, as Quiet is important to the game’s main story.

Meanwhile, the patch also gives players a newly buffed daily login bonus. Fans will be able to earn coins for Mother Base, GMP and materials for making things by simply logging into the game. The daily login bonus will change every day and will run for the duration of the upcoming Tokyo Game Show event, according to GameSpot.

Players can customize the Mother Base in the game’s online mode with in-game currency and purchases with real money. Some criticism was thrown at this, since it bears similarities with free-to-play mobile games, though it doesn’t affect the game’s critically acclaimed single-player campaign.

It’s unclear why the buffed-up daily bonus will only last till the 2015 Tokyo Game Show, though it’s possible that Konami might make an announcement related to “Metal Gear Solid V” during the event. The Tokyo Game Show takes place from Sept. 17 until Sept. 20.

“Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” is available now on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Those, who own the game, should have access to the patch already; otherwise, players shouldn’t use Quiet on missions 29 and 42.
