The puzzle-solving and mystery unraveling is not yet done as Frogwares announced the development of a new “Sherlock Holmes” game

In an announcement on its website, the Ukraine-based game developer unveiled a whole new installment for the popular detective franchise titled “Sherlock Holmes Chapter One.” Interestingly, as the description of the game suggests, it looks like a prequel of the previous titles in the series.

Apparently, in the upcoming adventure game, players will take on the role of a rebellious 21-year-old Sherlock who returns home to the Mediterranean, where he will try to uncover the twisted conspiracies and the truth that lurks under the vibrant local life.

As Sherlock, players will also work with a man named Jon. However, it is not the same Dr. John Watson that fans grew to know and love.

“As Sherlock, your legacy is written by the decisions you make in this open world. Deception, violence, and deduction are just a few resources in your arsenal—your mysterious friend and sounding board, Jon, is another,” Frogwares further wrote in the description of the game.

“Whether you choose brute force to solve problems or stay one step ahead of your enemies by using your wits to spot vulnerabilities, you decide what each situation demands as you hone your investigative skills. It’s time to confront your past so you can become the legend you’re destined to be!”

An exclusive reveal trailer was also released after the official announcement in which the young Sherlock can be seen working with a man who is presumed to be the mystery Jon. In the trailer, it appears the daring detective is looking for clues in an old and abandoned mansion.

There is no specific release date mentioned for “Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One,” which is set to be published by Frogwares as well. However, it is slated for launch some time in 2021 barring any unforeseen developments.

The game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, as well as for next generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – which suggests that the upcoming “Sherlock” title will get massive improvement when it comes to graphics.
