  • "New World" releases on Sept. 28 and launches on PC

American multinational tech company Amazon releases a new trailer for its upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "New World" during Gamescom Opening Night Live, confirming when the game's open beta kicks off.

"New World" is getting an open beta ahead of its official release on Sept. 28. On Wednesday, Amazon Games announced the game's open beta will start at 10 a.m. ET on Sept. 9 and will be available until Sept. 12.

Amazon held the closed beta this summer, which required players to pre-order the game to gain access. As the name suggests, the open beta is open to all interested gamers. In other words, it will not require interested players to pre-order to try the game out.

Gamers who want to participate in the open beta could also request access to the open beta client through the game's official page. They can also access the open beta through the Steam Playtest tool available on the official Steam page of the game.

Request for open beta access starts on Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. ET. During the open beta, the full game will be made accessible. However, it is worth noting that all progress made by players in this build will be deleted before the official launch of "New World."

While it is true that the game's open beta has a short run, it is interesting that the developers continue to test the stability and strength of its servers, which were the cause of headaches to many players during the closed beta.

As for the changes from the closed beta to the open beta, Amazon assured gamers they would be available in the official forum pages of "New World." Along with the open beta, the announcement is an in-engine cinematic trailer.

The video features the lore and story of the upcoming MMORPG from Amazon Games. It also introduces conflicts that players can discover as soon as they begin playing the game.

The trailer also highlights a mysterious voice-over in the background saying, "I will say a prayer for the souls of your crew." Moreover, the trailer features the premise of the game.
