Following a week that saw nine of 13 games decided by 13 points or more, the betting lines are the biggest of the 2014 NFL season. Many of the matchups in Week 5 could be uncompetitive, as nearly half of the favorites are giving the underdogs at least seven points.

“Thursday Night Football” is included on the list of potential blowouts, with the Green Bay Packers laying 9.5 points against the Minnesota Vikings to start Week 5. Both teams are coming off wins, but no game on Thursday night in 2014 has been decided by less than 20 points.

The largest point spread of Week 5 comes in the game between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Drew Brees and company are a 10.5-point favorite, despite losing by 31 points in their last game. The Saints are 1-3 through four games, but they haven’t lost at home since 2012. The Buccaneers are coming off the biggest upset of Week 4, winning in Pittsburgh as 7.5-point underdogs.

Two teams are favorites on the road in Week 5. The Seattle Seahawks lost in Week 2 when they were road favorites in San Diego, but they could have an easier time on “Monday Night Football” against the Washington Redskins. The Pittsburgh Steelers are favored in Jacksonville against the winless Jaguars, who have lost every game by at least three scores.

The San Diego Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals are the only two teams that have covered every betting line in 2014. Cincinnati is an underdog at New England and the Chargers are seven-point favorites against the New York Jets.

The contest between the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons features the highest over/under of the week. New York’s 45 points in Week 4 led all teams.

The Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders are idle in Week 5 after having faced off in London. Oakland will have a new head coach in their next game, following Dennis Allen’s firing.
