  • NFL will try to extend help to Antonio Brown
  • Goodell says the NFL and NFL Players Association have resources to help Brown
  • Brown remains hopeful of playing for another NFL team

NFL player Antonio Brown is having quite a rough time as of late but it appears help is needed. He has been cut off by several teams this season. Things haven't been that good outside the NFL scene too with the 31-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a fitness trainer.

But it appears the latest mess that Brown is into has become the final straw. He was recently arrested for repeatedly attacking a moving truck driver outside the player's home in Hollywood, ABC News reported. His trainer Glenn Holt was also involved, with both sides allegedly in disagreement about moving fees.

It seems that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has been keeping tabs of the Brown situation and now he wants to help the seven-time Pro Bowler, TMZ Sports reported. He wants to do his part in helping out the embattled wide receiver, stressing that the NFL and the NFL Players Association have the resources available to players in the situation of Brown.

"We want to help get him on the right track and get him in a position where he is in the zone where he thinks he can be successful in life," said Goodell during the media event in Miami for Super Bowl LIV.

Things have just soured for Brown suited up for the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots this 2019-20 NFL season. Most football fans will remember his forgettable start with the Raiders, missing 10 of 11 training camp practices due to a controversial foot injury.

There is also that helmet issue where he filed a grievance where he should be wearing his old helmet. He threatened to retire if he was forced to wear a new one. The issues did not stop there with Brown missing practice sessions. After supposedly apologizing, he would, later on, seek his release. Brown would be served his walking papers not long after.

The Patriots tried out Brown, signing him in September. He made a lone appearance for New England in Week 2 but was eventually cut with sexual and personal misconduct allegations hounding him. Thirteen days after he was signed, Brown would be cut by the Pats.

Brown continues to train with hopes of still playing in the NFL. To make sure he lasts longer, Goodell hopes to do his share and place him on the right path.

"We are confident that can happen. We want to work to do that and for our standpoint, that's the first step ... and the first step is making sure we're doing everything to help Antonio."
