Last December, Infinite Fall announced that “Night in the Woods” will not make it to its Jan. 10 release date. Despite announcing that the game has been delayed at the time, the developer did not give a new release date for the single-player adventure.

This week, the team behind “Night in the Woods” has finally revealed when can fans expect the game to arrive. According to Eurogamer, the new release date for the game is Feb. 21, 2017 — less than six weeks from today.

It’s good to know that the three-person team is going to realize its goal of launching its first commercial game soon. “Night in the Woods” is getting a multi-platform launch, which is kind of hard to do, so it’s understandable why Infinite Fall had to push back the release date of the game.

"It's all normal stuff, nothing is on fire, and it's all to do with the fact that we're a tiny team making a big game and doing a multi-platform launch is a whole ‘waves hands around’ thing," the developer stated in an update to fans.

Eurogamer reported that the delay was actually due to a couple of snafus with certification. With the announcement of the official release date however, it’s clear that the studio has already dealt with these issues to ensure the successful launch of the game on PS4, PC (Microsoft Windows), Mac and Linux.

While players wait for “Night in the Woods,” they can get a taste of what the game feels like through the previously released supplemental offerings, entitled “Longest Night” and “Lost Constellation.” Per the developers, each game is “not a demo or a preview of ‘Night in the Woods.’” They are more of tangent side-stories interested players can explore “in a more off-the-cuff manner,” as first reported by PC Gamer.

“Night in the Woods” was first announced at E3 2014.
