  • Nintendo Switch Pro fans got excited about a recent statement from the company's president

The imminent launch and eventual release of the supposed upgraded gaming console Nintendo Switch Pro is one of the rumors in the industry that won't simply go away and it appears that the company's head honcho has seemingly confirmed this in a recent statement.

Rumors have it that the supposed upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch hybrid console would release sometime this year or in 2022, which hinted at the possibility of its imminent announcement. Interestingly, the Japanese gaming giant recently dropped a bomb, suggesting that the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro is in development.

A Nintendo investor recently asked Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa about the rumored upgraded console during the company's shareholder's meeting.

"It was widely reported that a new version of the Nintendo Switch would be announced this June at E3, but no new model was announced at the Nintendo Direct E3 2021. What are your thoughts regarding the news of new models such as this?" the investor asked, reported VGC.

Nintendo executives are proficient in giving a general or vague statement whenever they feel it is not yet time to divulge pertinent details to the public. And like always, Furukawa answered, "Our company uses Nintendo Direct to inform our customers about individual products at the appropriate time."

"To achieve that we are constantly developing hardware, software, dedicated peripherals, etc, but we refrain from making comments on specific products still in development," he added.

While the answer is still vague, many fans started to wonder if the president is referring to the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro when he mentioned the product "still in development."

Reliable industry insiders claim that the Nintendo Switch Pro will house the Nvidia DLSS technology and an improved screen. In March, Bloomberg reported that the new display would feature Samsung's new 7-inch OLED screen. In the absence of an official announcement from the company, fans are advised to temper their expectations about the Nintendo Switch Pro since details about it are highly speculative at this time.
