Nissan has recalled over 200,000 pickup trucks over a faulty transmission issue that could cause the vehicles to roll away even when parked.

The recall affects certain 2020 to 2023 Nissan Titan and Frontier pickup trucks with nine-speed transmissions.

According to the recall notice, the affected trucks have transmission parking pawl that may not engage when the vehicle is in park, which could cause it to roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan said a remedy for the problem is under development. In the interim, the company is advising impacted truck owners to apply the parking brake every time they park their vehicle.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

Recall notices are expected to be mailed on Nov. 1.

The automaker said it is not aware of any incidents related to the recall.
