KEY POINTS

  • Nvidia has delayed the release of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
  • The company has not yet revealed when it plans to launch the said graphics card
  • A new leak reveals that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti could arrive in May

Nvidia may finally launch the highly anticipated GeForce RTX 3080 Ti after several delays, according to the latest leaks. Recently, an image of the graphics card's GPU surfaced online along with its price, release date, specs and mining performance.

The latest image of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti was shared by Videocardz, which reveals the upcoming graphics card would house the GA102-225-A1 graphics processor. The company's Titanium graphics cards feature an impressive balance between performance and price and it seems that the much-awaited RTX 3080 Ti is not an exception. Its GA102-225-A1 GPU reportedly features 10, 240 CUDA Cores that would utilize a 384-bit memory interface to link 12 GB of GDDR6X memory.

With that GPU configuration, it is safe to presume that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti could deliver considerably higher performance compared to RTX 3080, which has 8,700 CUDA cores. Its performance is a little lower than that of the company's flagship graphics card RTX 3090, which features 10,496 CUDA Cores.

In addition to the leaked image, the site also shared the performance of the graphics card in mining Ethereum.

Apparently, the GA102-225-A1 GPU of the RTX 3080 Ti comes with an Ethereum mining limiter. The site explained this particular sample of the graphics card would deliver an ETH mining hash rate of 118.9 Mh/s after optimizations. This is huge and promising since this performance means that it could be one of the best mining GPUs coming soon in the market.

In terms of price, IT Home reported that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti would cost around ¥7999 in China, which is approximately $1090 without VAT in the U.S. The leaked price places the upcoming graphics card below the price of the RTX 3090 and just above the price of the RTX 3080. It was earlier rumored to launch at an MSRP of around $999.

As for its release date, the report claims that consumers could expect the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti sometime in May 2021. It is worth noting that while these leaks are impressive, these are not from Nvidia.

Fans should temper their expectations about the product since its specs could still change at launch.
