Square Enix's “Octopath Traveler” is a Nintendo Switch exclusive no more as it has been released on the PC. The game is now available on Steam for around the same price as newly released AAA games. With this out on PC, players can now experience this love letter to traditional turn-based 90s JRPGs.

As seen on its Steam page, “Octopath Traveler” is now available for purchase since June 7. Since this title was a Nintendo Switch exclusive, many fans of the JRPG genre and fans who want to try out a quality RPG game can pick this up. Since its introduction on the online store, the reviews for this game are already “Very Positive” to Steam players.

In “Octopath Traveler,” players will have to experience the story of eight adventurers who have banded together due to life’s circumstance. Each of the characters have their own unique story while following a whole overarching story in the process. Players will take control of characters that represent a certain class for high fantasy RPG characters such as a cleric, spellcaster, merchant, knight, dancer, apothecary, thief and a ranger.

As for its release, the game is nearing its anniversary this coming July. Most games released on Steam that come from other platforms usually go for lower prices than its original selling price. However, “Octopath Traveler” remains to be $60 despite being almost a year old.

As a testament to its quality, “Octopath Traveler” has been nominated and won many game awards such as its nominations in The Game Awards 2018 and sweeping three awards in the Famitsu Awards.

For now, we’ve yet to know if Square Enix and the “Octopath Traveler” team will be making another nostalgic smash hit like this one aside from "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" if it does well.
