Police in Oklahoma apprehended a man who allegedly defecated in a grocery store freezer and a shopper reaching for a bag of frozen food accidentally ended up getting feces all over her hand.

The suspected male was captured defecating inside the freezer on the Moore store’s surveillance camera on the night of Sept. 12.

Shirley Wright-Johnson, a shopper who was at the store with her two children reached inside the freezer for a bag of pizza and put her hand in human feces, reported KFOR.

“I grabbed the bag, I felt something smushy on the bag, so I turned it over and there it was,” she told the outlet. “I was upset, I was disgusted, I feel like I was violated.”

The woman said the bag of frozen food she reached for was placed on top of the feces to cover it up. Moore police confirmed it was human feces.

Wright-Johnson alerted the store employees about the incident and scrubbed her hands clean. She used bleach and disinfectant but it did little to deter the smell from her hands and headed home.

“All the way home (her children) still were like, ‘Mom, I can smell it, I can smell it.’ I’m like, ‘I smell it too, baby,’” she added.

According to Lt. Kyle Johnson with the Moore police department also contaminated other sections of the store. “That individual was then observed, went to the cooler section where he proceeded to defecate inside one of the coolers before leaving the business,” he said, reported the outlet.

On further review of store surveillance footage, police said the man was also allegedly taking pictures of a woman inside the store, reported the New York Post.

“It’s a little bit disturbing. It’s kind of out there. We don’t see this much,” Johnson said, reported KFOR.

Wright-Johnson said she is still trying to comprehend what transpired. “I was so disgusted I was almost in tears,” she said.

The man seen on the video was apprehended, said police Wednesday. The suspect has been booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on unrelated complaints. Police did not identify the man or say what charges the man will face.

Tampering with consumer food is a federal offense and could lead to a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Last year, a man was sentenced to 30 days in prison after a video of him licking a tub of ice cream and put it back in the freezer at a Walmart in Texas went viral.
