D'Adrien Anderson, the man behind the ice cream-licking viral video last August, has been sentenced to 30 days in prison for his outrageous stunt Thursday.

The 24-year-old Anderson became the talk of the town when he recorded himself licking a tub of Blue Bell ice cream at a Port Arthur Walmart and putting it back in the freezer.

Anderson pleaded guilty to the class A misdemeanor charge earlier on January 15 despite telling authorities that he only did it as a “stunt” and went back and bought the ice cream that he licked.

While the purchase was confirmed, Walmart to replace all of its Blue Bell ice cream.

In addition to his jail time, Judge Terrance Holmes also handed Anderson an additional 180 days probation over two years and is required to complete 100 hours of community work.

He is also required to pay $1,000 and restitution amounting to $1,565 to Blue Bell Creameries.

“Anderson's actions caused public concerns about the safety and quality of consumer products offered for public consumption, impacted Blue Bell consumer confidence and caused the company financial loss.

This type of activity will not be tolerated,” said the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office, through ABC News.

Anderson's ice cream-licking video is just one of many who entertained themselves by licking Blue Bell ice cream and putting them back in the freezer.
