'The Politician' Season 2 To Begin Filming Soon, Promises 'Surprises'

After delivering a big hit, “The Politician” Season 2 will continue with the twists and turns in the plot. Cast member Bette Midler, who plays the role of Hadassah Gold, has teased in a recent interview that there will be more “surprises” when the show returns.
Filming of Season 2 will begin soon, and the cast members are excited to return. Midler said in an interview with E! News that she has no idea what’s coming next, but she promised the fans that there will be “plenty of surprises.” She added that there will also be many unexpected “She didn’t!” moments that the fans can expect.
Midler has seen the first season and she said that she loves it. “It's got so many different twists and turns,” she said. This approach to storytelling is expected to continue with Season 2.
While Midler doesn’t exactly know what’s coming, the one person who does know is executive producer Ryan Murphy. The plot will be about the political race in New York, and he confirmed that the stakes are higher this time.
“It's Ben vs. Judith Light and Bette Mider,” Murphy said about “The Politician” Season 2. The producer added that it will be “great” to see the three actors in a scene together when the show returns.
Filming will begin soon for the next season. Muphy said that he loves the show because it is about “a lot of things,” but at the same time it is “just pure fun.”
The show’s lead Ben Platt, who plays Payton Hobart, told The Hollywood Reporter that the next season will mostly focus on his character fighting Dede Standish (Judith Light) in New York. The actor teased that the two characters will be a little older and becoming adults. The actor, however, pointed out that every time they thought they had the plot figured out, the producers shocked them with a twist.
Although “The Politician” Season 2 will be fun to watch, it is not a very realistic show. Vulture pointed out that Platt has to be a resident of New York for five years before running for office, which means he would have been disqualified if he ran in real life.
