Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles will be embarking on a nine-day tour of Africa starting on Oct. 31.

The royal couple will be heading to Gambia, Ghana, and Nigeria, and will be following in the footsteps of Prime Minister Theresa May, who made a three-nation trade mission to Kenya, South Africa, and Nigeria this month and in August.

Prince Charles and Bowles will be flying to Africa on the day of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s arrival from their 16-day overseas tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and the Kingdom of Tonga. This means that the two couples will likely be missing each other.

Scott Furssedonn-Wood, Prince Charles’ deputy private secretary, said that the future King and his wife will visit the three countries at the request of the British Government.

“Their Royal Highnesses will visit celebrate the UK’s historic ties with these three Commonwealth nations, and also our dynamic contemporary partnerships with each of them in areas ranging from business to the arts, defense cooperation to medical research. The tour will also highlight the people-to-people links between our countries and the invaluable contribution they make to our shared prosperity and security,” he said (via Daily Mail).

Prince Charles and Bowles will return to London following their nine-day tour just in time for the former’s upcoming 70th birthday on Nov. 14. According to The Telegraph, Prince Charles’ special day will be celebrated with a TV magic show that will be broadcasted by ITV.

The special was described by the network as “a truly unique and unforgettable night where the world’s greatest comics join forces with the most accomplished magicians to celebrate the Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday. A cast of comedy giants take to the stage, but will also showcase the best jaw-dropping illusions from the greatest magicians in the business.”

Queen Elizabeth II is also reportedly organizing a huge birthday party for her eldest son. Prince Harry and Markle are expected to miss the occasion due to their prior engagements.
