Prince Charles Irked By Kate Middleton, Prince William’s Behaviour During Royal Tour

Prince Charles was annoyed with Kate Middleton and Prince William’s behavior during their first royal tour.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made millions of people happy when they tied the knot in 2011. Just two months after their royal wedding, the couple embarked in a 10-day tour when they visited the U.S. and Canada. However, according to royal expert Sally Bedell Smith, Prince Charles didn’t like the couple’s behavior during the tour, Express reported.

Prince William and Middleton interacted with hundreds of fans that waited for them. The Prince of Wales felt that the couple was featured too many in “tasteless” photo ops. The heir apparent was not pleased at all because it was supposed to be an official state visit, but Prince William and Middleton were pictured as a “camera-friendly couple.”

According to Smith, Prince Charles was “more than a little irked” of Prince William and Middleton’s behavior during the trip. He felt that they were using it as a “personal holiday.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had free reign over the itinerary for the visit, which was organized by the Queen’s Canadian secretary Kevin Macleod. However, some experts believed that Prince Charles only felt that way because he was jealous of his son since when he and Camilla Parker Bowels visited Canada, not too many people were there to welcome them.

“When Charles and Camilla visited ­Canada two years ago they were greeted by relatively small crowds,” royal author Phil Dampier said.

“They are in their 60s and are not what you would call glamorous.”

At present, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are more keen on keeping their privacy after welcoming their three children. Although they still release official photos whenever there are any celebration, they never look at the camera when they attend events.

Royal photographer Ian Lloyd warned the couple that their bid for privacy could backfire at them in 20 years time. By the time Prince William and Middleton want press coverage, the media would have already moved on to other people because by then, they are old and not attractive anymore.
