Prince Charles looked bored during Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.

The Royal Family shared a snap of the little Prince of Wales during the ceremony on Instagram. In the black and white photo, Prince Charles can be seen standing between Queen Mother and aunt Princess Margaret during Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. Prince Charles looked glum and unamused.

Many found Prince Charles’ photo funny, prompting some to leave comments about how the Prince of Wales was waiting and still waiting for his turn to reign.

“Prince Charles is still waiting,” one netizen wrote.

“Apparently as a child, Prince Charles knew this was going to be a long wait! Lol” a different user added.

“He was bored of this castle life from his childhood and still like this,” another user wrote.

The Queen’s coronation began at 11:15 a.m. and lasted for three hours. Prince Charles was the first child to witness his mother’s coronation as Sovereign. Her sister Princess Anne had been born but was only 2 years old at the time. The Royal Princess was deemed too young to attend the event, People reported.

According to Express, Prince Charles was only 4 years old during his mother’s coronation. He is the longest-serving heir-apparent of the country being the second in line to the throne for 67 years.

There are rumors that when Queen Elizabeth II reaches the age of 95, she will make a monumental decision of officially allowing Prince Charles to take over the stewardship of her reign. According to Robert Jobson, the Queen will transfer all her executive powers to the Prince of Wales by making him the Prince Regent until her death. This way, he will become king and Queen Elizabeth II will serve as the queen regnant until her death.

However, many believe that it is unlikely for Queen Elizabeth II to give up the throne to her son for several reasons. First, she promised to reign for life. Second, she feels that reigning is her mission in life, so she would never consider the thought of stepping down.

Also, the public loves the Queen. Her Majesty and Prince Philip also reportedly doubt Prince Charles’ leadership skills.
