Kate Middleton and Prince William raised some eyebrows after missing an important event.

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump arrived at Buckingham Palace for his first official state visit. They were welcomed by the senior members of the royal family including Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. However, the next senior pair, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were noticeably missing.

According to New Idea’s Milly Haddrick, Prince William and Middleton’s absence in the welcome ceremony raised some eyebrows since the couple doesn’t live far away from Buckingham Palace. It remains unknown why the couple didn’t join the gathering. However, it wasn’t the first time Prince William allegedly snubbed Trump.

A year ago, Trump visited the U.K. to meet Queen Elizabeth II. Many were surprised that neither Prince Charles nor Prince William accompanied Her Majesty on the said meeting.

An insider said that it was “very unusual” for the Queen to be there on her own.

“This business of Prince Charles and Prince William not being there for the Trump visit was a snub,” a source told The Sunday Times.

Due to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s absence in the welcome ceremony, some questioned if they would attend the state banquet that the Queen hosted for the U.S. president. Prince William and Middleton didn’t disappoint the royal fans as they were in attendance. Prince Harry was there too, but he reportedly looked “grumpy” and “rude.”

Middleton was gorgeous in her white Alexander McQueen dress and sparkling Lover’s Knot tiara. She also wore the blue, red and white sash of the Royal Victorian Order after receiving the honor from the Queen on her eighth wedding anniversary with Prince William last April.

Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla were also stunning that evening. The Queen wore a Burmese ruby and diamond tiara, which she paired with a matching diamond necklace. The Duchess of Cornwall wore a Boucheron tiara that features large tapered diamonds. The Boucheron tiara is more expensive than Princess Diana’s Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, which Middleton donned that night.
