Prince Charles Reportedly To ‘Slim Down’ Monarchy, Remove This Family Member
He is set to become the next King of England after his mother’s death, but according to a shocking new documentary, Prince Charles has a very specific member of the royal family he allegedly intends to cut off when he is in charge—his own brother, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.
According to the documentary, “The Royal Family at War,” which Express UK reports will air this weekend, the complicated relationship between the brothers takes center stage and claims that Prince Charles is worried about “ruining” his mother’s legacy as Queen. In addition, he plans to “Slim down” the monarchy as a whole, by only allowing immediate family to be funded by taxpayers.
As a result, that would put the focus on the core members of the family, and conveniently cut off his brother, and well as his daughter, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.
However, the biggest reason for being concerned about his brother and wanting to allegedly cut him out of the big picture is because he is reportedly concerned over Prince Andrew’s public image, which has been tainted by scandals over the years, including a friendship with a disgraced billionaire.
“Charles is worried that Andrew’s behavior at times is damaging the family firm,” biographer Penny Junor said in the documentary.
“There probably has been occasions where Prince Charles has considered Andrew to be a bit of a liability to the royal family, “commentator Victoria Arbiter added. “That image of Prince Andrew being the playboy at large rankles Prince Charles. He finds it embarrassing.”
“Charles does not want to be responsible for ruining the queen’s legacy,” she added.
Of course, even if Prince Charles is worried about his brother’s reputation potentially ruining the monarchy, which would require him to pare things down, it is worth noting that the heir to the throne has been the face of scandals himself.
Most notably is the fact that he and wife Camilla Parker Bowles were engaged in an extra-marital affair for years while he was married to Princess Diana, something she famously called out in an interview after they separated.
The couple went on to wed in 2005.
