Prince Charles’ role as the Prince of Wales was snubbed in a documentary.

According to Matthew Kirkham, a journalist for Express, the Prince of Wales’ role wasn’t recognized honorably in an unearthed documentary titled "The Madness of Prince Charles." Prince Charles reportedly “never had a full-time job other than being the Prince of Wales” following his stint in the Royal Navy.

“And no one really knows what that job means,” the narrator added.

The documentary pointed out how Prince Charles showed off his ”self-deflating” humor by cracking jokes and dancing with the residents. The narrator said that the clown was just a mask and behind it was a hunger to be serious.

Prince Charles has been criticized for his campaign on issues like GM crops, architecture, integrated medicine and climate change. Some questioned his potential and if he would be able to uphold the strict policy of political neutrality that is expected from a British monarch when it’s his time to reign.

“The Prince has consistently misunderstood or ignored a basic truth at the heart of the relationship between royalty and the people,” Jeremy Paxman wrote about the heir in his 2005 book titled “On Royalty.”

Another royal writer, Max Hastings, shared the same concern about the future king. According to him, Prince Charles is “oblivious to the tension between his grand vision about how others should live and his personal financial profligacy.”

Michael Baum, Professor Emeritus of Surgery at University College London, didn’t support Prince Charles' plans to advance alternative medicine. According to him, the Prince of Wales’ vision about medicine was "so wrong."

Prince Charles endorsed the Gerson diet, which Baum said is far from benign. He insisted that this is associated with "coffee enema" and added that it’s “toxic.”

In related news, earlier this month, Queen Elizabeth II hosted a gathering to celebrate Prince Charles’ investiture. The heir has been the Prince of Wales for 50 years already. The royal family reunited at Buckingham Palace for the special event.

Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Camilla Parker Bowles were present at the event, joining the Queen and Prince Charles. Based on the photos, Middleton seemed to take the center stage during the gathering, while Markle was put in the corner.
