Prince Andrew and Prince Edward got to spend more time with their parents compared to their older siblings. After all, the royal siblings were born 10 years after Princess Anne’s birth.

In an unearthed photo, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are hanging out with their two younger siblings. But their body language suggests that they are not very close.

The snap shows a young Prince Edward climbing on top of his parents’ Land Rover. Prince Philip is looking sternly at his youngest son, as though he is trying to ask him to get off the vehicle safely.

Prince Andrew is standing beside his dad, and he is looking straight into the camera. He doesn’t seem very concerned about what his younger brother, Prince Edward, is doing.

The Queen is standing at the other end of the car, which is a few steps away from Prince Philip and Prince Philip. She is looking away from the camera, and her eyebrows are crossed. Her Majesty doesn’t look all too pleased with what his son is doing, but she also looks distant and cold.

According to the photo’s caption, the photo was taken in Windsor in 1972. And evidently absent from the snap are the Queen and Prince Philip’s older siblings, Prince Charles and Princess Anne. In 1972, the heir to the throne was already 14 years old and Princess Anne was 12 years old.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward have very special relationships with their parents. The Duke of York is dubbed as the Queen’s favorite son. Prince Edward, on the other hand, is reportedly the favorite son of Prince Philip.

In fact, a photo of Prince Edward is framed inside the Duke of Edinburgh’s office while he was still a working royal. And his older children don’t have framed photos in his study.
