One of Prince Edward’s wedding photos was digitally altered because Prince William was “not looking his best,” according to a photographer.

On June 19, 1999, the Earl and Countess of Wessex tied the knot. It was a happy occasion for the royal family. However, according to Sir Geoffrey Shakerley, brother-in-law of Lord Lichfield, the Queen's cousin, who took the wedding photos, there was one particular picture that they edited.

In the picture, Prince Edward felt that his nephew, the Duke of Cambridge, “was not looking his best.” Thus, the snap was digitally altered by replacing Prince William’s face from another shot where he was smiling.

“Prince Edward said he didn't think Prince William looked absolutely his best, so digitally we were able to put in another picture of Prince William from one of the other shots where he is smiling and laughing,” Sir Geoffrey said, the BBC reported.

The photographer also said that the other attendees were “very euphoric, very happy.” There was a lot of chat and banter going on among the wedding guests who were filled with excitement for the occasion.

According to Express, Sir Geoffrey’s assistant, Robert Simpson, claimed that Prince William was also “jubilant” throughout the rest of the day. However, the future king glanced down just before the photo was taken and that’s why he appeared not too happy in the shot.

Sir Geoffrey also praised the bride. According to him, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was calm and very composed during the photo session.

“She was incredibly relaxed and very natural, very easy, needed very, very little encouragement or direction from me,” he said.

In related news, Sophie recently opened up about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step back from their royal duties in January. After the bombshell announcement they moved to Canada.

In March, the duo returned to the U.K. to carry out their final royal engagement. Shortly after that, Prince Harry and Markle moved to the United States.

“We all try to help any new member of the family,” said Sophie, Countess of Wessex, suggesting that they tried to help Markle adjust to the royal life.

The royal did not say much about the royal couple. However, she gave a brief message for them.

“I just hope they will be happy,” she said.
