Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly urged to return home for Christmas.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in Canada for the holidays. According to a report, Prince Harry and Markle were actually urged by the members of the royal family to join them for the celebration especially since Prince Philip is currently hospitalized. The source revealed that they were at a loss that the couple could miss the final family Christmases with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

“They are absolutely entitled to a proper break and privacy, but they’ve had six weeks off. What about some lovely family photos and memories with baby Archie?” a source told The Sun.

“Many of the family were very keen to see him over Christmas, but were told they couldn’t as they were abroad. There is a feeling they are being inconsiderate and selfish, given the Queen and Philip’s advancing age.”

The couple is currently in Canada for the holidays. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau even gave them a warm welcome by leaving a sweet message for the royal couple on Twitter.

The source said that the couple is there to process everything and to contemplate if they will still be working royals. The insider added that they should have thought about returning home for the festive season.

Meanwhile, a photo of the Queen’s desk while she was filming for her Christmas message has been released. In the snap, many noticed a collection of pictures featuring Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, King George VI, and Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Many also noticed that Prince Harry and Markle were noticeably missing in the photos. Some royal fans reacted on Twitter saying that the Queen was snubbing the Sussexes. Others believe that the monarch was sending a message about slimming down the monarchy.

Royal commentator Ingrid Seward denied that the move was a deliberate snub to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. However, she agreed that it could “represent the idea of a slimmed-down monarchy.”
