According to Express, the highly-publicized feud between the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex developed long before Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in 2018. Angela Levin, the author of "Harry: Conversations with the Prince," suggests that in actuality, the brothers have had a long history of disagreements, even before the Duchess of Sussex arrived.

Levin stated that due to Prince Harry's competitive nature it was "very difficult" for him to know that Prince William would one day become king.

She added, “It is also very difficult if you are second in line to a brother and you are quite competitive, Harry is very competitive as a person, but your brother is going to be king, and there is nothing you can do about that, you can’t beat that. He also didn’t have a role to play.

When asked about the feud that has allegedly been going on between the members of the royal family, Levin said, "He told me that he only wanted to work with the Royal Foundation on mental health issues on that one project, he wanted to do other projects that didn't involve that, so I think it goes back before Meghan."

Last year, news broke that a feud had erupted between Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex, but royal reports contradict that finding and instead suggest that the tension was between the brothers. That discomfort was reportedly exacerbated by Prince William cautioning Prince Harry not to initially rush into anything during the early phases of his relationship with Meghan, as reported by Cosmo.

Levin elaborated on this, saying, "William might have meant well but he took it very badly. People do lose some bonds. It is a shame because he and William have been very tight and they are the only two who can understand what they have been through."

This news comes on the heels of the official announcement that Harry and Meghan are separating from The Royal Foundation, where they worked on charities in conjunction with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Royal followers will just have to wait and see how everything works itself out moving forward.
