Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot last year, and they chose some members of the royal family to be their bridesmaids and pageboys.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex asked Peter Phillips two daughters, Savannah, and Isla Phillips, to be two of their eight bridesmaids. Princess Charlotte and Prince George were also part of the royal couple’s entourage.

But visibly absent from the royal wedding entourage was Zara Tindall’s daughter, Mia Tindall. According to royal commentator Duncan Larcombe, the snub was nothing personal.

While speaking with Good Housekeeping, Larcombe said that Prince Harry and Markle wanted to make sure that the Duchess of Sussex would feel represented on her special day. Since Markle was not a royal before she married Prince Harry, they also chose non-royals to be part of their entourage.

“I guess they wanted Meghan to be represented and therefore not choose too many royals,” he said.

Prior to Prince Harry and Markle’s nuptials, royal author Penny Junor said that the choices in bridesmaids and page boys were actually quite surprising because the selection was believed to have been done by the “Suits” alum.

“Harry was always very close to Peter and Zara. On the other hand, bridesmaids are often the choice of the bride rather than the groom and it may be that Meghan doesn’t know Mia and Savannah very well - if at all. There’s also the issue of numbers. They have ten and twelve might have just been too many,” she said.

Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018. Their nuptials were attended by hundreds of guests including Tindall.

While speaking with The Telegraph, Tindall revealed that she felt uncomfortable throughout the ceremony because she was pregnant at the time. Shortly after, Tindall gave birth to her second daughter, Lena.

“It just wasn’t comfy at all and it probably showed on my face. I was uncomfortable! My bum sort of slid over either side and Lena kicked the hell out of me for an hour,” she said.
