Prince Harry may have just overshadowed Prince Louis’ first birthday by doing a poignant thing on Earth Day.

On the Sussex Royal’s Instagram account, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a series of photos to commemorate Earth Day. Some of the never-before-seen snaps were taken by the Duke of Sussex himself.

The first photo, which was not taken by Prince Harry, shows himself and Markle walking in a forest in New Zealand. The second black and white photo shows an adorable rhino resting its chin over a tree trunk.

Another photo taken by soon-to-be-dad shows a beautiful sunset over the ocean. Other photos taken by the Duke of Sussex include sceneries, close up snaps of animals, shells, an elephant, and more.

“Today is #earthday – an opportunity to learn about, celebrate, and continue to safeguard our planet, our home. The above, their Royal Highnesses in Rotorua, New Zealand… Of the 170 different species originally planted in the early 1900s, only a handful of species, including these majestic Redwoods, remain today,” the caption read.

The royal couple’s inspirational post garnered over half a million likes on Instagram. But around the same time, Kate Middleton and Prince William also uploaded an adorable photo of Prince Louis to commemorate the toddler’s first birthday.

Two of Prince Louis’ photos were taken by the Duchess of Cambridge herself. IN the snap, the youngest child of Middleton and Prince William is wearing a maroon cardigan. He is playing outdoors with an extremely happy look on his face.

The caption of the photo revealed that the snaps were taken earlier this month by Middleton while she and her family were in Norfolk. The photo garnered over 800,000 likes on Instagram.

A second post about Prince Louis shows the young royal wearing a navy-blue cardigan. The photo, which may have also been taken by Middleton, has garnered over 1 million likes on Kensington Royal’s official Instagram account.
