Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth’s failing health reportedly impacted Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s wedding plans. The royal couple will tie the knot on May 29 at the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace.

A source told Express that the royal couple initially wanted to exchange their wedding vows abroad, but they took into consideration the health of Princess Beatrice’s grandparents.

The Duke of Edinburgh will turn 99 years old this year, while the Queen will turn 94 years old this year. A few days before Christmas, Prince Philip was rushed to the hospital to seek treatment for a preexisting condition. Her Majesty, on the other hand, recently canceled a royal engagement because of her colds.

Two years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also took Prince Philip into consideration when it came to their wedding date. Sources revealed that the royal couple decided to get married sooner rather than later to make sure that Prince Harry’s grandparents could both still attend.

“He wanted something close to home for the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen. In fact, one of the reasons that Prince Harry has wanted this wedding to happen quite quickly – this is really whirlwind by royal standards – is because his 96-year-old grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, is retired now and Prince Harry really wants him to be at his wedding,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight.

Meanwhile, even though Prince Philip managed to attend Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding on May 19, 2018, a royal expert revealed that the retired royal warned his grandson against marrying the Duchess of Sussex.

A source told The Sun how Prince Philip warned members of the royal family against marrying an actress. However, his remarks were made before Prince Harry and Markle started dating.

Still, if the Duke of Sussex heard of it before, he chose to ignore it for the sake of his love for the Duchess of Sussex.
