Prince Philip once kissed his wife, Queen Elizabeth II, during a nerve-wracking moment.

In the book “Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh,” royal author Annie Bullen talked about the time that photographer Cecil Beaton felt intimidated by the dad of four.

“As Prince Philip rose to his feet, he touched Queen Elizabeth’s crown and kissed her tenderly on the cheek. Afterwards, they posed for photographs taken by Cecil Beaton, who confessed later that the smile on Philip’s lips put the ‘fear of God’ into him,” Bullen said.

Beaton is a huge fan of the Duke of Edinburgh and she also thought that he was a first-rate when it comes to putting the people that he’s talking to at ease. However, she still felt nervous due to the Duke’s rather ragging attitudes during formal events.

But while Prince Philip made a photographer feel nervous, the Queen was praised for how well she adjusted into her role as the head of the monarchy. Bullen said that Her Majesty has been carrying out all of her tasks conscientiously.

“The Queen had settled into her new role. She had seen her father carrying out his duties and she knew what she had to do… She read the contents of her ‘boxes’ each day, gave audiences, signed papers and dealt with affairs of state thoroughly and conscientiously,” she said.

Meanwhile, royal author Ingrid Seward revealed that even though the Queen managed to adjust to her new role, this didn’t mean that everything went smoothly for her.

In her book “The Queen and Di: The Untold Story,” Seward recounted the time that the Queen and former Prime Minister Tony Blair feuded with each other.

While they were in Ghana in 1961, Her Majesty and Blair clashed. And in 1999, the mom of four made sure to put Blair in his place when he joined her in Balmoral. Blair reportedly urged the Queen to plan the upcoming Golden Jubilee and the royal felt that Blair overstepped his boundaries.
