Prince Philip checked out of King Edward VII hospital on Tuesday after four-day confinement.

Last week, the palace confirmed that the Duke of Edinburgh was rushed to the hospital to seek treatment for a pre-existing condition.

Earlier this week, photos of the retired royal leaving the hospital and riding his car made headlines. On Twitter, the dad of four was criticized for looking old and frail.

Some netizens also likened Queen Elizabeth’s husband to one of the characters from “Weekend at Bernie’s.” Others also uploaded memes of the 98-year-old.

“‘Weekend at Bernie’s 2’ starring #PrincePhilip,” Twitter user @youroldda said.

“When there’s no room in hell and the dead will walk the earth,” Twitter user @SirRockavitch said.

“Prince Philip has taken four grams of coke to relax him for the Queen’s speech…” Twitter user @PodcastPharaohs said.

“If he’s going back looking like that, what did he look like when he went to the hospital?” Twitter user @JerryHicksUnite said.

“I think he needs a morgue rather than a hospital,” Twitter user @The_Unsportsmen said.

“A really nice gesture by the funeral home to let #PrincePhilip’s remains ride shotgun,” Twitter user @DreamcastBarber said.

Meanwhile, some royal fans also came to the Duke of Edinburgh’s defense.

“Everyone shut up about Prince Philip. He walked unaided after hip surgery at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, has steadfastly stood by the Queen throughout their 72-year marriage, and he is a strong, sharp-witted Greek,” Twitter user @LoukiaBorrell said.

“Whatever your opinion of Prince Philip – to look that unwell yet manage to whack a suit on and walk to your car – speaks of stoicism from a generation nearly lost,” Twitter user @SamGoodhand said.

“A little surprised by the comments. Ugliness has become far too common. At 98 he looks wonderful. I wish him a joyous holiday with his family!” Twitter user @leonbergers said.

In related news, Prince Philip has returned to Sandringham to celebrate Christmas with the royal family. He is also expected to reunite with the Queen for the annual Christmas dinner on Wednesday.
