  • Prince William is co-authoring the book "Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet"
  • The Duke of Cambridge will be writing the introduction and a number of environmentalists will contribute
  • Prince William's book will be published before the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in October

Prince William is also working on a book just like his younger brother, Prince Harry.

Just days after the Duke of Sussex announced his memoir, news of Prince William co-authoring "Earthshot: How to Save Our Planet" made the headlines. The book will be published before the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony in London in October, Us Weekly reported.

Prince William worked on the publication with Colin Butfield. Butfield is the Duke of Cambridge's advisor for his environmental campaign and the executive producer of the WWF’s Our Planet project. They also worked with award-winning producer Jonnie Hughes to realize the book.

The press release described the publication as "a book of action and optimism to save our planet." It will feature an introduction from Prince William and contributions from environmentalists Sir David Attenborough, Shakira Mebarak, Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim, Naoko Yamazaki, and Christiana Figueres.

"The Earth is at a tipping point and we face a stark choice: either we continue as we are and irreparably damage our planet, or we remember our unique power as human beings and our continual ability to lead, innovate, and problem-solve. People can achieve great things. The next ten years present us with one of our greatest tests – a decade of action to repair the Earth," it quoted Prince William as saying as the founder of the Earthshot Prize.

The concept of Prince William's book is very different from Prince Harry's memoir because the latter is about his life. Meanwhile, the future king's Earthshot is about the environment, with focus on the concept of "Urgency + Optimism = Action."

"Earthshot" will be published by John Murray in the U.K., Europe and across the Commonwealth on Sept. 30 and in North America on Oct. 5.

Meanwhile, the memoir that the Duke of Sussex is releasing will be published by the Penguin Random House. His book aims to give the people "a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful." However, the royal family was reportedly concerned about Prince Harry's memoir.

"The royal family is shaken up about the book," an unnamed source told Us Weekly. "They haven’t received a copy yet and don’t know what to expect. It’s making them nervous."

Prince Harry's memoir will be released globally in 2022. He plans to donate the proceeds to charity, according to the publisher.
