Prince William and Kate Middleton may not release new birthday photos of their son Prince George this year, according to a royal biographer.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's eldest child will be turning 8 years old on Thursday. However, royal fans may not get a new portrait of Prince George this year because his parents are reportedly "upset" over the cruel online comments targeting their son's appearance.

"There are rumors that we might not see the photograph [of Prince George] when he’s eight, because they’ve been so upset by the rudeness of people mocking a little boy aged seven, and I hope they can overcome that," Angela Levin, author of "Harry: A Biography of a Prince," said on True Royal TV’s "The Royal Beat."

It has become a tradition for Middleton and Prince William to share new portraits of their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, on their birthdays and other milestones such as their first day of school.

Unlike Levin, however, royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah, who also appeared on "The Royal Beat," said the Cambridges likely won't break the tradition for Prince George's upcoming birthday.

“I reckon they will put one out,” she was quoted as saying by News.com.au.

Nikkah also praised Prince William and Middleton for taking Prince George to Wembley Stadium in London last Sunday for the Euro 2020 final as a way to ease him into a life of public service.

“This is an official duty for Prince George at the age of seven,” she said. “It’s lovely and happy and there’s a lot of emotion. Getting him used to big crowds and knowing that he is being watched by millions of people – it’s quite a clever way of doing it.”

Royal fans apparently loved seeing Prince George at the Euro 2020 final as his photos went viral on Twitter before the game even ended. However, some were not happy about the outfit he wore to match.

"prince george is lucky he goes to some posh a-- school because if he went to any other school he'd be absolutely battered for wearing a suit to the euros," one person tweeted.

Another wrote, "Absolutely terrible PR from the palace to put Prince George in a suit instead of a tiny England strip with the tiny shoes and knee high socks and everything."

Others said they loved Prince George's reactions during the game and could relate.

"Who the hell cares what Prince George is wearing? Look at his happiness!" one commented.

"The only thing England won tonight was some really good prince George memes," another added.

For his birthday last year, the Palace released a photo of Prince George smiling at the camera and sporting a camouflage pattern T-shirt.

According to People, the young prince's outfit was a nod to his dad Prince William and uncle Prince Harry who served in the armed forces. Prince William served as a pilot with the Royal Air Force Search Rescue Force. Meanwhile, Prince Harry was in the army for 10 years.
