  • The royal siblings had grueling schedules in the military

Prince William and Prince Harry joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst years ago.

In May 2005, the Duke of Sussex enrolled in the academy, and he completed the course a year later. In 2006, the Duke of Cambridge also joined the force. After he completed the course, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant.

Not much is known about the life of the royal siblings while they were in the military. But Major-General Paul Nanson, an army leadership guru, revealed that the royal siblings actually had grueling schedules, and they also had to adhere to a very strict lifestyle.

Prince William and Prince Harry were required to wake up at 5 a.m., and the first thing that they need to do is to brush their teeth and fix their room. Within the first hour, the cadets have to roll their socks in a unique way to make them look like smiley faces.

They also need to fold their shirts and jumpers into a perfect A4 rectangle. Toothbrushes and toothpaste need to be positioned at the right angle, and clothes inside the closet need to be organized by color. Each piece of clothing should have exactly four fingers between them.

Shoes should also be polished to make them look brand-new. Bedsheets also need to be fixed and floors should be spotless.

By 6 a.m., the cadets gather in the corridors to sing the national anthem.

Even though Prince William and Prince Harry’s schedule in the military was quite taxing, Nanson said that he’s certain the royal siblings learned a lot from their experience.

“All of these skills can promote broader empowerment, self-discipline and leadership skills. They equip us for the battlefield, to fight insurgents and prepare for counter-terrorism ops,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince Harry also made headlines this week after an English singer said that she prefers the latter to be the king of Britain. After all, the Duke of Sussex is more progressive and relatable than his older brother.
