Princess Beatrice’s fiancé reportedly shares many similarities with Meghan Markle.

On Thursday, Buckingham Palace confirmed Princess Beatrice’s engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shortly after Princess Eugenie leaked the big news on social media. However, some netizens are concerned with the upcoming member of the royal family.

“I hope he is sincere with Beatrice. I read some comments he is Meghan 2.0. I don’t know much about this guy, only that he have already a son from his ex-fiancée (sic),” one netizen wrote on Twitter.

According to New Idea, prior to Princess Beatrice, Mapelli Mozzi was engaged to the mother of his 2-year-old son, Chinese American architect Dana Huang. The property tycoon started dating Princess Beatrice less than a year after his split from his ex-fianceé.

Daily Mail reported that the exes had a surprising split. Huang’s mother claimed that she ended up on a friend’s sofa and only found out that they split after Mapelli Mozzi made a public appearance with Princess Eugenie’s sister just six months after they separated.

“I think Dara was hiding it from me,” Huang’s mother said. “She didn’t want me to be sad. I am shocked.”

Although Huang was forced to leave their home following her split from Mapelli Mozzi, they reportedly remained friends. Huang and Mapelli Mozzi shared custody of their son Christopher.

Huang even congratulated Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Beatrice following their engagement announcement. She broke her silence by wishing the newly engaged couple the best.

“I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families,” Huang said.

In related news, Meghan Markle’s fans accused Princess Beatrice of stealing the Duchess of Sussex’s thunder due to the timing of her engagement announcement.

“It’s more like Beatrice hogging the limelight during Meghan‘s South African tour. Couldn’t she have waited for a couple of days?” one royal follower wrote.

However, some royal followers defended Princess Beatrice. According to another netizen, Prince Harry and Markle are just doing their job and it’s not a major life event, so it’s unreasonable for Princess Beatrice to hold off her engagement just because they are working in Africa.
